Guest Spot: Otaku in Review

Last week I had the pleasure of joining Scott Spaziani, Michael Camacho, and third-chair Jon Ignolia at the Otaku in Review Podcast for the seasonal anime previews. We previewed up to 25 new shows for this new Spring season. There was also a bit of controversy near the end.

Check it out!

  1. And that's why I'm here. Honestly, after I heard the name of your blog was, "Reisen goes to school by bus," I started laughing so hard I had to pause the podcast just to make sure I didn't miss anything.

As for the end, it depends how he exactly "ate" the spit, if I assume that's what the controversy was. You know, spending 15 minutes talking about it. I didn't exactly see the episode. If he ate it and then made a sort of orgasm face, yeah, I guess it was fetishised.

But, still, if it was just ペロペロ then, "Yeah, that was all right." then it's nothing. There's nothing creepy about it. He's just slightly strange. And as for, "it not being a healthy relationship," who cares? That's why we like ヤンデレ right? Please tell me I'm not the only one who wants a ヤンデレ girl.

Also, マイアンカイシタワタンユ。 I prefer using Kana because it was built for Japanese, rather than the latin alphabet. I also rage hard when Micahel pronounces the デレ part in tsundere.

    1. I am glad someone knows the joke.

Well, he tasted the spit. Said it was sweet. No orgasm or anything. I watched more episode and it becomes more clear. The sharing of saliva is more of a bond between the main character and Urabe rather than some fetishistic thing.

Oh man, you're a freak. Nah, just kidding, I know plenty of guys who like yandere girls.

Yeah, Mike isn't the best at pronouncing Japanese, but he's still better than Scott. ;)

  2. Well, then, it's not fetishised at all unless you're looking at it that way, Scott. *COUGH* Japanese pronunciation, the way they do it, wants me to just jump into the podcast and say it, more or slightly more, correctly. I'd need the kana, though. I suck at reading romanji.
